A hectic time

It's been a little busy around here and it seems our house has been infested... with cold germs. One or the other of us has had some symptom of a cold for what seems like 2 months. Ever since Carl started school I feel we have a whole new set of friends in our house...bacteria bugs. Oh I know they do their best at the school to prevent it and there is a lot of hand washing going on. But have you watched a 4 year old when they don't know you are looking? I won't go to much into it, protecting the weak stomached, but let's just say things that are sticky, things you can stretch, well... they are fascinating. And where it goes afterwards, who knows or wants to say. Putting Carl to bed the other night he said to me, "Momma, oh I can't tell you this. Momma? Oh, you will think it's gross." Of course I said he could tell me. If he has something to say to me he can say it. (Next time I will think twice about that.) So he looked at me and said, "Momma, I like to eat boogers." Okay, he was right, that is gross. And I told him that and then just moved on. No need to give it more attention.

So what else...

Willow has been busy getting older (like us all) and has even asked a few times to go into the bathroom to "poooop." When she says it she kinda drags the word out. And she has been going. Of course we don't trust it will be a regular thing but it is promising and a few less to change. I am sure in her attempt to be more like her brother (she definitely looks up to him) she also likes to share the experience.

They are cute, even in the bathroom.

As for Carl, he has been immersed in the world of imagination. Pretend to be Pablo and a harbor rescuer, pretend to be Diego rescuing an animal, a police officer and most recently, he wants Brian to pretend he is Santa. So last night I asked him if he wanted to send Santa a letter. He was very excited and though I forgot, when he got up he was very fast to ask to write the letter.
Then we addressed it, he put the stamp on and put it in the mailbox.
And then, he smiled, thinking of Santa getting it.Yesterday I was at a meeting and we asked the girls to come up with a closing. They thought it would be good to say something we are thankful for. Good idea.
"I am thankful for my children. For all the joy they bring me, for all I learn from them and for all the love we share."

I smiled while reading the whole thing. His story reminds me of when my brother was little one of my aunts said she saw Sonny eating boogers and it just made her really sick to watch him. Sweet Willow is growing so much - such a big girl. She will continue to learn much from Carl. Love you all very much and thanks for the update on the blog. Love, Ruth/Gramma
